The Accounts Receivable Assistant and the Finance team

Citywire has been around since 1999. In the intervening period we have expanded from a few people in a single serviced London office to an operation with more than 200 people and offices in Munich, Singapore, Milan and New York.

We are looking for experienced Accounts Receivable Assistant to work in our London office where the group’s finance team is based. You’ll have sole responsibility for recovering unpaid money from our entire client portfolio worldwide and provide overall support to the Head of Accounts Receivable

When you join us, you’ll be…

  • Contacting business customers to ensure timely processing of sales ledger invoicing to avoid ageing
  • Asking debtors to settle their account and explaining the terms of their credit
  • Working with the client and sales team to handle & resolve queries
  • Aged Debt reporting
  • Identification of daily receipts for allocation purposes
  • Generate invoice & statement batches and overdue account letters - dispatch to debtors via post and email
  • Sales invoicing to month end reconciliation
  • Full cover for Head of Accounts Receivable annual leave to include daily revenue recording & reporting
  • Credit checking new accounts
  • Account set up and maintenance
  • Support with ad hoc duties as required

What you’ll need: 

  • Substantial experience in a global credit control role, preferably in the media industry
  • Experience using SAGE accounts
  • Excellent Excel skills – macros & pivots table experience
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • An assertive but tactful manner
  • Calmness under pressure
  • An organised and methodical approach
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good negotiation skills
  • The ability to explain financial matters firmly and clearly
