The Role

We are looking for a meticulous and hard-working Picture Desk Assistant to join Citywire’s vibrant Creative team.

Working closely with the editorial, design and production teams, you will be responsible for sourcing images and other assets for use across our portfolio of magazines and websites. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining our internal image archives, keeping tight records of purchases and usage rights, adapting images and artwork in Photoshop and keeping regular flow of quality images to our content management system. There will be scope to assist with the commissioning of photoshoots and undertake some house photography.

Overall, this position represents a great opportunity to learn about photography within a publishing and media environment.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of Photoshop
  • An interest in news and current affairs
  • The ability to work methodically at a fast pace
  • Attention to detail, strong organisation and communication
  • A degree in Photography, Design, Media, Publishing or a related field

Desirable skills and experience:

  • An understanding of InDesign, Illustrator and HTML
  • Experience using a content management system (CMS)
  • Previous experience in a relevant position (could include internships and placements)
