The New York office is our latest and fastest-growing outpost. Based in Midtown Manhattan, it has doubled in staff numbers in the last two years and we plan to grow even more in 2018. Following the success of the launch of Citywireusa.com and our Professional Buyer magazine, we are launching a new magazine and website focused on the RIA market and are looking for a top editorial team to help run it.

The Role

Reporting to the Citywire USA Editor, you will be the Editor of Citywire’s new RIA magazine and website. This will involve managing a team of reporters, publishing a daily email newsletter and a biweekly print edition.

To be successful you will demonstrate an ability to edit breaking news stories, work on complicated longer-form articles, commission interesting features from internal and external contributors, develop strong relationships with industry professionals and train your team. This is not a copy-editying role - we're looking for someone who has experience in managing reporters and can really drive this publication forward. Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing and editing a daily email newsletter full of breaking news and interesting features for the RIA community
  • Organizing and editing a biweekly magazine of features, interviews and analysis relevant for this audience
  • Building new contacts and establishing good sources
  • Training a team of journalists to chase news, develop contacts and write quick, clean and engaging articles
  • Travelling across the USA to meet key contacts and attend events

What you’ll need

  • At least five years’ experience as an editor or senior reporter
  • A strong news sense and experience of a fast-paced breaking news environment
  • Excellent editing and writing skills – please include previous examples with your application
  • Knowledge and understanding of the US asset and / or wealth management industry as well as financial markets
  • Willingness to be a team player
