Salary in the range of £35,000 to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
3-year Fixed Term Contract
Based: The Ismaili Centre, South Kensington, London.
Background: The Secondary Teacher Education Programme (STEP) is a programme of study for practising and prospective teachers. The mission of STEP is to address the need for professional secondary education teachers by training exceptional graduates into teachers and mentors who can help to shape and inspire future generations and teach the IIS’ secondary curriculum to Ismaili students worldwide.
The programme, implemented in collaboration with the University of London’s Institute of Education, extends over two academic years and culminates in two postgraduate awards: a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDip) and a Master of Arts in Education (Muslim Societies and Civilisations). Following completion of the academic programme in London, participants proceed to an in-service phase as professional secondary teachers in a community-based religious education system.

This will entail delivery through classroom based as well as online/remote teaching, camps, episodic and other implementation strategies. The Teacher will also contribute to the effective planning of a sound RE programme to meet the needs of students and community members and to teaching within the UK and all jurisdiction RE centres. We have two vacancies for this role.
