Job Description

Smart Moms is actively recruiting for multiple Quality Inspectors for various shifts.  Our client provides professional Inspectors to support their key functions in the areas of Full Service Supply Quality Management, Advanced Quality Planning Consulting (APQP) and SSGBTraining.  Our client's headquarters is in Ann Arbor, MI with future opportunties in Redford, MI, Louisville, KT, Toledo, Ohio and Leganton, Illinois.  

 Job Responsibilities: Maintains quality standards by inspecting and separating acceptable materials from nonconforming material at incoming, in-process, and finished products and recording inspection results.

Various full-time shifts are available that allow workers to manage other aspects of their life (i.e. daytime, evening and weekend)

These opportunities are contracts positions (3 - 12 mths).  We are seeking candidates that have strong work ethics, open to learning new skills and exploring other entry opportunities in Quality Control and manufacturing.  Parents and students are encouraged to apply.  


Key Duties:

  • Approves incoming materials by conducting visual inspection; rejecting, tagging, and segregating  unacceptable material from the acceptable material
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and some measurement tests (as-needed) and rejecting, tagging, and segregating unacceptable material from the acceptable material. 
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and some measurement test and rework (as-needed).  Reject, tag, and segregate unacceptable material from the acceptable material.  
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and rejects..
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by complying with all site safety requirements..

Required Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Able to stand long hours on manufacturing plant floor

Able to lift 10 to 25 lbs.

Work independently with little or no supervision

Read and follow acceptance standards (instructions)

Capable of visually detecting “acceptable” vs. “unacceptable” material

Complete daily log sheet and nonconformance tags.

Preferred Qualifications:

6 months or more experience in Quality Inspection

OR experience within the automotive manufacturing industry
