Job Description

Title:  Brand Marketing Manager

Reporting Relationship: Becca Wilson, CEO 

Job Description:  This role will be responsible for EXECUTION of well-planned strategies that will result in lead generation, new sales and increased brand awareness.  We will call this position “THE EXECUTIONER” because it’s imperative the execution of each initiative is on point.  This leader will be able to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done themselves while maintaining the Spherexx core value of Servant Leadership.  The ideal candidate will have previous marketing, advertising, and PR experience, and can step in and take ownership of new branding campaigns that will have a significant impact on the Spherexx portfolio of brands. 

This role will help us increase our revenue through methodical strategy implementation across all our brands. Gaining market share might not be the focus for us, but we will work together with you to determine what strategy will best serve our company. Since Spherexx is an advertising agency and software development, there are really no resources we don’t have to implement your strategies and achieve new goals.

1/ Spherexx.com – Parent company.  An advertising agency that provides advertising services to all the Spherexx owned software we sell as a licensed service, along with software we built and service for 3rd party clients.  Our ad agency also services a client base that is mostly multifamily real estate – but we also serve liquor distribution, manufacturing and small to medium-sized businesses across the US.  Most of our advertising services are digital, however, we still do some print as well.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a marketing & public relations communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics for Spherexx products.
  • Obtains market share by developing marketing plans and programs for each product; directing promotional support.  We need marketing plans built for every software product we own. This will require working with many on our team to provide details on our competitors and our differentiating functionality.  Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements.
  • Be our in-house media relations expert. Conduct media outreach, develop creative story angles about our applications and company, tell amazing stories with our data, and build trusted relationships with the media.
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media for Spherexx products
  • Consult & brainstorm on public relations activities with our existing team on topics like client retention, tradeshow events, etc.
  • Direct social media to engage audiences across traditional and new media
  • Stay abreast of the emerging social media technologies and guide the organization to leverage new online tools and platforms to help us advance our Spherexx brand.  We are only interested in social media that serves a purpose we can measure.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Our Director of Corporate Communications will manage media inquiries and interview requests, but you will be involved to give feedback, ideas and ultimately how we can leverage these inquiries and final output.
  • Create content for press releases, byline articles, and keynote presentations by working with internal teams, including project management, account management, and business development
  • Manage and execute all fundamental elements of a PR program including corporate and partner news.
  • Pitching media on relevant company and product news. Expand into new markets beyond multifamily real estate.
  • Amplify our sales through a comprehensive and methodical marketing & advertising strategy for each brand.
  • Develop key communications vehicles including a constant flow of press releases, comprehensive media plans and reporting, blog and editorial contributions, and more.
  • Set, produce and interpret monthly and quarterly KPI (key performance indicators) metrics and provide guidance for ongoing enhancement. 
  • Establish metrics to monitor, and work to exceed, performance indicators for marketing efforts across all channels and market segments which complement overall Marketing and Spherexx business objectives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an on-going basis.
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness.
  • Work alongside our Director of Corporate Communications on the implementation of brand messaging in marketing, communications and maximizing brand exposure, strengthen brand equity and maintain consistency with our brand messaging.
  • Write informative and compelling communications materials, including press release, media advisories, talking points, fact sheets, social media, event materials and website copy
  • Coordinate and maintain project timing, follow budgets and monitor time effectively, and elevate questions and concerns to the CEO (Becca) or the President (Kaleb).
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback through analytics tools, A/B testing, surveys and focus groups.  This would be a project for year 2 of employment.
  • Utilize analysis and metrics to proactively identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations that continuously improve and maximize website effectiveness, increase traffic, and enhance website usability.
  • Design ad concepts and channel implementation + tracking and analysis of results driven by online, print and broadcast ad campaigns along with client sponsored conferences and industry tradeshows.
  • Contributes to marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Maintains relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer- relations programs; determining company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.
  • Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data. Monitor progress and submit performance reports.
  • Influences present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends. Borrow ideas from other industries that we could implement and differentiate our software or services.
  • Develops new uses for existing products by analyzing statistics regarding market development; acquiring and analyzing data; consulting with internal and external sources.
  • Works with our in-house team to manage/enhance our existing potential customer database & harvest the best lead profiles for solicitation. 
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • A team of ONE (1) so you will need hands-on skills and genius use of automation to streamline repetitive processes.  You will manage the marketing of the Spherexx products and services along with consulting with other account managers on client specific marketing needs.
  • Plan and execute campaigns for corporate promotion, launching of new product lines etc.
  • Responsible for producing valuable content for the company’s online presence, editorial design.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Branding, PR & Marketing space
  • Track record of building creative communications programs and delivering quantifiable results in terms of both lead generation and sales
  • Hands-on experience working with and managing strategic communications relationships
  • InDesign & Illustrator expertise to mockup web page content, marketing materials, etc.
  • Manage a content writing team to work on both in-house projects and 3rd party clients
  • Hands-on experience designing collateral and content to implement across multiple channels for maximum leverage
  • Ability to maintain a 40 hour per week rigorous schedule, including domestic travel as needed (up to 35%) 
  • HUBSPOT certification a plus
