POSITION TITLE:  Data Entry Specialist

SUMMARY:  The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for collecting and entering data in systems/databases and maintaining accurate records of valuable company information.  The ideal candidate must have essential data entry skills, such as fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms.  The successful data entry specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date and useable information in our systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares source data for database entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Enters/reviews data in requested format in database, including upload of required documents.
  • Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies.
  • Discusses discrepancies using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team for resolution.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and communicate any delays with team lead/manager in advance of deadlines to ensure client needs are met.
  • Other duties as assigned and requested

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school degree required
  • Previous data entry experience is a plus
  • Experience in the retail or food service areas is extremely advantageous
  • A positive, professional, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Adept at building trust and credibility
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Works well with teams and has strong motivational skills
  • Strong problem solving and strategic planning skills
  • Able to navigate and use Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Supervisory and Reporting Responsibilities:     

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
  • Reports to Client Services Manager

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Work may be performed in an Affinity Group office or warehouse environment.
  • Periodically requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time at trade shows.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of position (some weekends included).
  • May require travel up to 5% of the time within territory.
