SUMMARY:  The Affinity Group Account Executive is responsible for planning and executing a customized sales strategy for
their distributor clients in the specified geographic region. This position is deeply knowledgeable in key account segment and builds and maintains close relationships with the Food Service Directors and the Chefs at all assigned operators. The Account Executive is always available to their clients, contacting them on a regular basis, participating in local functions, cutting/demonstrating products, training and educating the key personnel and always working to better understand their product needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships with management at distributor.
  • Develops and implements a sales action plan with objectives and strategies to increase revenue and aggressively acquire new accounts.
  • Seeks and creates opportunities to expand business with current distributor, identifying further business needs and presents a solution.
  • Grows existing accounts and prospective clients to full potential and generates maximum revenue on a long-term basis.
  • Prepares and presents sales proposals, including rebates and deviated pricing.
  • Works with the LLO and Segment Specialists at the specific distributor.
  • Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understands and communicates information regarding company products, programs, and services, policies and procedures.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of foodservice industry product information.
  • Continually gathers information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region; communicates information to management and others as needed.
  • Negotiates marketing programs.
  • Ensures that all required distributor paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Provides timely and accurate reports to management, manufacturers and EM’s.
  • Plans and implements food shows distributor training and other events.
  • Manages distributor reviews and schedule manufacturer’s market visit with assigned distributor.
  • Attends and participates in trade shows and distributor events that impact business unit.
  • Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings.
  • Serves as MDM (Market Development Manager) for specific manufacturers, implementing business strategies to create brand awareness and demand for products.
  • Inputs sales calls consistently into CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Sales Reporting tool, providing complete information.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience with a food service brokerage agency foodservice operations management and/or national manufacturer calling on key regional accounts and/or operators.
  • Ability to execute and follow through a sales plan.
  • A positive, professional, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Leadership and management skills preferred.

  • Using the CRM System daily
  • Call Reporting in CRM System
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Supervisory and Reporting Responsibilities:     

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
  • Reports to Vice President, Sales

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Work may be performed in an Affinity Group office or warehouse environment.
  • Periodically requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time at trade shows.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of position (some weekends included).
  • May require travel up to 70% of the time within territory.
