SUMMARY:  The Market Vice President, is responsible for the general management of the specified region/market including developing sales objectives, initiatives, financial plans, sales goals, growth, and profit objectives to meet and maintain a healthy market share. This responsibility includes all areas of the sales function including field sales, marketing, and customer service.  The position will report to the President, Affinity Group Food Marketing and play a large role in the growth and future sales strategy of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the sales activities by establishing annual goals and objectives, developing, reviewing and approving trimester planning strategies and action plans, and analyzing performance against those goals and objectives to maximize sales, gain profits and increase market share and meet the financial objectives of the company.
  • Provides daily direction and guidance, to sales team to meet the identified sales goals and objectives.
  • Selects, develops and motivates the sales team by providing training and establishing goals and objectives, monitoring, and measuring the results of the entire team, appraising performances and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards.
  • Provides daily direction and guidance to sales team to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Travels within the region/market to provide support to sales team on producing profit driven solutions to maximize sales results and ensure corporate direction on sales are communicated and properly executed.
  • Represents Affinity Group at “Top to Top” meetings with manufacturing clients and trade partners to discuss current and future performance for region/market.
  • Leads and attends various meetings to coordinate sales team efforts with all other company objectives and goals.
  • Provides sales feedback on issues and takes company direction from Affinity Group Food Marketing, President.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • College degree preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience with a food service brokerage agency foodservice operations management and/or national manufacturer calling on key regional accounts and/or operators.
  • Ability to create long-term and short-term financial sales objectives and execute against them.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience.
  • A positive, professional, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Leadership and management skills preferred.
  • Adept at building trust and credibility.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Works well with teams and has strong motivational skills.
  • Strong problem solving and strategic planning skills.
  • Able to navigate and use CRM System daily.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Supervisory and Reporting Responsibilities:     

  • This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the region/market associates. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and recognizing associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Reports to Affinity Group Food Marketing, President

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Work may be performed in an Affinity Group office or warehouse environment.
  • Periodically requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time at trade shows.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of position (some weekends included).
  • May require travel up to 75% of the time within territory.
