ROLE 

Fantastic newly created position for a talented Digital Operations Director heading this function within our expanding, fast-paced, leading Word of Mouth agency.  The Digital Operations Director owns the delivery, continued development and excellent performance of digital operations across the agency.

Key focus areas of the role:

Infrastructure:  Responsible for driving the design, build and maintenance of vital owned media and digital infrastructure, including surrounding process, protocol and documentation.

Policy governance: Ensuring all policies (including IT, Security and GDPR) are in place, systematically updated and adhered to. Ultimately, managing compliance throughout the London office.

GDPR: The Digital Operations Director will be the senior owner accountable for GDPR awareness, education and compliance throughout the London organisation – the relevant skills and training are essential to the role.

Commercial management of digital operations: Responsible for the creation of the Digital Operations Budget – liaising with all Function leads to discern the relevant tech tools required to deliver and progress our service offering.  Drives budget management and cost reconciliation connecting Finance and Functions leads. Accountability for our IT partnership (managed by our Operations Manager) ensuring adequate service provision and cost management.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and deliver the IT and Digital Strategy for 1000heads while focusing on delivery of key business priorities

Provide highly effective IT systems that enable the business to deliver strategic and commercial results

Contribute at both strategic and operational level in order to identify IT/Digital priorities and create the infrastructure, processes and policies which support business aims

Create systems that are effective and fit for purpose

Mentorship and guidance to all junior heads who require or ask for support

Internal Tech and Digital Operations 

Ownership, management and maintenance of internal budgets including: Tech Tools, Digital Operations and Insights tools

IT infrastructure management and maintenance

Supplier management/negotiations

Policy creation encompassing Development and IT

Data regulation compliance across the agency

Tech tools budget management - coordinating requirements and spend tracking across functions

Quarterly IT infrastructure reviews - also to inform future business budgets

Management of owned digital assets (.com and social channels)

Outsourced IT support 

Own relationship, monitor and manage performance

Ensure SLA’s, KPI’s and the needs of our business are met

Ensure business needs are fully met

Data Protection and Industry standards

Ensure GDPR has been rolled out correctly and ensure all business processes are in line with legislative requirements

Quarterly data hygiene sessions with all staff to ensure GDPR compliance

Creation and regular review of data, password and hardware policies for Ltd and the Group

Ensuring ISO 9001 compliance, create and implement regular reviews

Drive ISO 27001 implementation – create documentation and effective roll out

Training and Development

Coach and mentor junior team members as appropriate

Responsible for GDPR module within ‘Headucation’ (internal training programme) documentation

KEY SKILLS

Intrapreneurial, Senior Digital Operations leader with proven commercial skills and the ability to deliver solutions.

Experience of owning and driving the digital function within medium size business/start-up environment and full ownership of the function, ideally from the digital/media/marketing sector.  Agency experience highly desirable.

Highly developed project management skills

Proven ability to manage 3rd party suppliers effectively

Ability to manage a PSL & drive down costs

Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail

Highly developed commercial & financial skills

Outstanding project management and budgeting skills

Highly effective negotiation and networking skills

Sound understanding of all current and relevant legislation including Data Protection, H&S and CSR

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

IT/Digital Media related degree or equivalent experience

Sound experience as senior Digital Operations leader within a medium sized/growing, dynamic start up environment
